Having a baby is such an exciting, and exhausting time in your life. Whether it’s your first baby or you already have a child or two the newborn period is special, and often hard to remember. New moms can use ALL of the helping hands that they can get, and that includes those that technology can provide. That’s right, there are apps that can help to make your life as a new mom easier! So let’s talk about some of the must-have apps for new moms.
Qeepsake
If you can only get one app as a new mom then this is the one. Every mother fully intends to write down all of their baby’s milestones, but it often just doesn’t work out that way. This app does it for you! The app sends question prompts each day to make journaling easy, it tracks milestones, and you can add photos. When you are ready you can transfer this information to your baby book, or have one printed so that you have all of your precious memories at your fingertips.
Baby Tracker
Baby Tracker is a very useful app for new mothers that will help you track feeding, sleep, and diaper changes. It can also be used to track nursing, pumping, growth, and your baby’s medical history. One of the really great things about this app is that multiple users can log into the same account. So if mom has to run errands, dad can see when the baby last ate, or the babysitter can use it to let you know how long the baby slept and when their last diaper change was.
White Noise Baby
Many newborns find it much easier to sleep and self-soothe if you lay them down in a room with white noise. White Noise Baby is an app with an extensive library of white noise sounds such as a car ride, fan, vacuum cleaner, thunderstorm, and many more. Simply set the timer for the sound your little one likes best and watch as they fall right to sleep.
Peanut App
Sometimes new moms can feel isolated at home with their newborns, especially until they are more comfortable getting out with them. That’s where the Peanut app comes in, as crazy as it sounds the Peanut app is like a dating app for new moms. It was actually created by one of the Bumble designers. The app helps new moms find other moms with similar interests nearby to find each other. They also have some community discussion features so that you can ask for and receive advice from other moms.
Momatu
Momatu is a safe and private social sharing app that you can use for free. If you aren’t comfortable sharing and storing all of your child’s precious pictures and memories on social media, then Momatu is the perfect app for you. You can invite family members that you want to talk with and allow them to see your pictures and memories. You can print a hard copy of your photos at any time and there is unlimited storage too.
Huckelberry
I personally use this one all day everyday. It tracks poops, pees, pumps, naps, feeds…so basically everything you need. I’m pumping every two hours so it’s nice to know how long ago my last pump was or how long ago baby ate. It also times naps and offers advice if you upgrade to the premium features.
There are lots of apps for new mothers out there and if you ask any of your friends who are parents they may have some more to recommend. These must-have apps for new moms will help you to soothe your baby, track their care and growth, and even help you to find other mothers to talk with. Do you have any other apps for new mothers to share?
