I’m nearing my 9th month of pregnancy and I can’t help but think of my struggles to find maternity clothes that fit right in thee beginning. I actually ventured out to a few malls and shopping centers and felt so defeated. It was probably mostly hormones making me super sad about not being able to find any maternity clothes but I did put in a lot of time searching only to end up empty handed. I finally took to the net and found some amazing pieces that were pretty affordable…double win! I’ve rounded up my fav maternity clothes for all you struggling mamas to be out there since I know how hard it was to find anything for myself.
I found some things at Target in store, but honestly, not much. It might be my area but I even ventured out into a few of the larger stores and found nothing. I found that H&M had the best basics and I lived in their leggings and t’s my second trimester. I fel in love with Old Navy shorts and picked up a few pairs since they were so comfy, plus they have super cute baby clothes and are always running sales! I even bought off Poshmark in my first trimester since I started showing super early. I was surprised to see the selection and I felt good about snagging some good deals. I personally didn’t want to go crazy and spend tons of maternity clothing I was only going to wear for 9 months so I opted to search out thee deals.
I did hear from a lot of friends and fellow bloggers that I could always opt for more stretchy dresses that aren’t necessarily labeled as maternity. That didn’t work too well for me. I started showing in my first trimester pretty much and had to switch over to maternity pants and shorts in the first 20 weeks. I’ve been living in dresses too, which isn’t something I normally do, but I found them to be more comfortable. Shapewear high waited belly supporting shorts became my new best friends too, I scored these on Amazon and they we’re the best purchase I made this whole pregnancy.
Pro tip from a first time mom // They tell you to order your normal size in maternity clothing. I personally had better luck ordering a size up. I found that as my numb grew (and it grew fast!) I was growing out of my normal size and unable to wear some of the clothes I had bought earlier on. Also, don’t forget about thrifting and discount stores…sometimes you can find some great pieces if you have the patience!
My Fav Maternity Clothes

Maternity clothes are so much morenocer now a days. I remember struggling when I was pregnant 19 years ago. Just love how there is so much out there now- also oversized pieces really are so much more better looking. Hope you doing well. You look beaut 😍
