If you’re stuck at home because of this virus, don’t panic! You’re not alone and the best thing to do is to limit contact with people and crowds. I’m lucky enough to be able to work from home, and now that our school districts are closed for month, we have to figure out what to do with our spare time. So, if you’re stuck at home, here’s how to keep busy!
Spring Cleaning
This is the perfect time to start your Spring cleaning! Take it room by room os you don’t overwhelm yourself and get it done! Don’t forget to clean the baseboards and walls! They are so often forgotten! When the whole house is done, you’ll feel amazing and it will be worth all the work.
Re-Do Your Closet
Go through your clothes and get things organized. We are getting into warmer weather here in the states and your closet should reflect that. Either donate or sell the clothing you haven’t worn in a while and tuck the pieces you can’t part with away until next season. I suggest color coordinating everything and putting like pieces together. For example, long sleeve tops with long sleeve tops. You can even try on all those jeans you’re hoarding (I can’t be alone!) and part with the ones that no longer fit. It’s hard, I know, but you’ll feel so much better when you do!
Make A List Of Realistic Goals
Sit yourself down with a snack and write out a list of goals for yourself that are realistic. You don’t want to have goals that are near impossible to achieve, unless that’s what makes you tick. I find tangible lists help me knock things out faster. Being able to physically cross something out is the best feeling in the world! A couple of my personal goals on my list include have 25k in savings by the end of the year and remodel the laundry room,
Meal Prep
This one might be hard since a lot of the markets might be wiped out of food, but you can always get a list going for when everything is back in stock! Prepping to meal prep is half the battle! Get a list of ingredients and dishes and make yourself a calendar of meals. Have a game plan and execute it!
Start a Garden
Depending on where you live, the weather might be nice outside making it the perfect time to start a garden. Research what veggies and fruits do best in your area and get yourself set up. This is fun to do as a family too, especially if you have kids!
Play Board Games or Do a Puzzle
Do you have a closet full of board games that never get used? I know we have a few that we haven’t touched in years! Puzzles are fun to do with other people or even by yourself. I use to love doing them as a family when I was younger. Cherish the time you get to spend with your family and friends. Make the best of it!
Finish That Book
Finish that book you might have picked up months ago and never got back to. I have two books sitting on my nightstand that are begging to be read, but I haven’t had the time until now. Nothing is better than sitting back and relaxing with a good book.
Update Your LinkedIn Profile
I had forgotten about my LinkedIn profile years ago and just recently updated it. Don’t underestimate the power of an incredible LinkedIn profile! It doesn’t matter if you’re not looking for a new job, one day you might and it’s such a powerful tool to have in your toolbox.
Make the best of your time if you’re staying home right now and stay healthy! Remember to check in on your friends and family as well as neighbors. We all have to be in this together!
