It’s Fall. Right around the corner we have the holidays and I know everyone isn’t ready. I’m a saver by nature and wanted to share five ways to save for the holidays to help make your life, and holidays, a bit easier!
1. Create A Budget
Okay, this one is sometimes easier said than done. I love to budget, but I don’t always stick to it. Se yourself a loose budget and make sure you don’t overspend or put anything on a credit card if you can help it. Set a budget for your holiday shopping too! It’s hard to save for the holidays if you don’t know how much you want to save!
2. Make A List
Sounds simple, right? Make a list of everyone you are planning on gifting this holiday season and set a realistic amount for each person. This should give you an idea of how much money you need to save.
3. Download eBates
Download and shop on-line with eBates. You earn cash back at just about every store you shop at online. The more you spend, the more you save! I’ve seen it up to 10% cash back at stores like Macy’s. I’ve earned over $500 cash back by using eBates for my on-line shopping.
4. Set Aside Money
Setting aside money in order to save for the holidays is a given, right? Well, it only works if you actually do it! I suggest setting aside $50-$100 each Friday. We have 10 Friday’s until Christmas as of right now. That means you could have $500 or $1000 saved by the time Santa Clause comes to town.
5. Don’t Go Crazy
Spending money and buying gifts is not what the holidays are all about believe it or not. Family, friends, faith and good company make the holidays what they are. A heartfelt card means just as must as a gift one would buy at a store in my opinion. If you don’t have the funds, need to pay bills or are going to end up struggling after the holidays, don’t spend the money.
I hope you took a little something from my holiday saving tips!
