I thought I knew my skin pretty well. I have a well rounded skincare routine and use a lot of highly rated products. I’ve been wanting to get a facial for a while, but it took some time finding the right person near me. I found Hetel through another blogger and jumped at the opportunity to book. I honestly didn’t think I would learn anything from getting a facial, but I did, and I need to share!
Hetel is extremely knowledgable and corrected some of my skin bad behaviors! I already knew not to touch my face, but I didn’t realize how much I actually did until after my facial. I really need to break myself of that habit!
Don’t wash your face in the shower.
That might not be something everyone does, but I keep cleansing balm in my shower so I can do my first cleanse. I’ve been doing it for years, but I guess it’s a no no. The hot water from the shower can damage your skin, and no one wants that. I take devil showers, so they are hotter than normal. Hetel advised me to take my shower then double cleanse when I’m done. My pores will be open and ready for cleansing by the time my devils shower is over.
I don’t have combo skin like I always thought.
This one blew me away. I always thought I had combo to regular skin, but turns out I’m dry! That explains a lot, but I would have never guessed. That’s why they are the professionals! I’m really happy to know this because I can now adjust my routine and the products I use.
A good, deep clean can make all the difference.
I wish I took before and after photos. Next time I will for sure! I’m currently on day one post facial and my skin is glowing. My makeup applied flawlessly this morning and I feel like my skin looks better than it has in years. I took my makeup off after my shower by double cleansing and have only used a toner and moisturizer as per my after facial directions. I feel like more frequent facials will really improve my skins appearance, especially if I’m feeling so good about it today!
I’m sure I will learn more every time I go in for a treatment. I can’t wait to share my results and tips I pick up along the way!
I never knew that about washing your face in the shower, I have been doing that for years too! Good to know, thank you for sharing.
I didn’t either and I’ve been doing it for years too! I’m a little bummed because it saved so much time!
That’s true about cleansing face in the shower! Any residues from shampoo and conditioner can be harmful as well.
I didn’t know that about shampoo and conditioner but it totally makes sense!
