Facebook ads strike again on my husband. He gets lured in when there’s a sale and he always buys!
This time is was a four pack of natural deodorant from American Provenance.
We have never used natural deodorant, so I really am unsure as to why it sparked his interest, but I’m glad it did! I’ve always wanted to try it out, but was really unsure of what to look for and I didn’t want to go through the “detox” phase everyone talks about.

Let’s talk ingredients… American Provenance deodorant is made with coconut oil, shea butter, beeswax, aluminum-free baking soda, arrowroot powder and a blend of essential oils. These ingredients sound a lot better than using a product with aluminum, preservatives, carcinogens and other harsh chemicals. I’ve never looked at the ingredient label on tradition deodorants or antiperspirants, but I’m sure if I would, I’d find a big lost of things I can’t pronounce. I’m happier with a smaller list of simple ingredients, and the hubby agrees.
American Provenance has a whole selection of scents to choose from too. It was pretty fun picking out which ones we wanted to try. I settled on Daggers & Diamonds (rose, bergamot and jasmine) and Rosaries & Revolvers (geranium, bergamot and lavender). The husband decided to try his luck with Shotguns & Shenanigans (peppermint, cypress and eucalyptus) and Firepits & Flannels (wintergreen, fir and cedar).

First Impressions
So our first impressions were pretty good in my opinion. We were both a bit worried that we would stink all day long, but that didn’t happen at all. The husband and I agreed that a little goes a long way because it melts a bit on contact. If you looks at the ingredients, that’s kind of a no brainer. Use sparingly because you don’t want to waste it!
I didn’t get whiffs of the scent throughout the day like I thought I would. Hubby said he was able to smell it a little bit, but it wasn’t too strong. If people were standing next to you, they wouldn’t be able to tell which scent you picked, so it’s not a lingering or strong scent at all.
The first day went well in both of our opinions. I didn’t feel like it worked any differently than my previous deodorant. Hubby agrees and said the same thing about it not being too different than his old product.
We’ve been using American Provenance for about a week now, and are both really liking it. There is not much change like I thought there would be. Neither of us have experienced any “detox” symptoms yet, so if we run into any, I will be sure to write a follow up!
American was kind enough to send me a coupon code for you all to save 20%! Use LBL20 if you want to save some money!
I recently started to use Mitchum (I know it’s not natural) but I was getting sick of sure roll-on as tooo much product was being used unnecessarily anyhow I picked up the unscented one and it’s brilliant!
I hate when too much product gets used!! I’m glad you found one you like!!
