Week three of Whole 30 is done and in the books! One more week to go and we’re FREE!
This week was easier than the last two. We have settled into a routine and basically know what we need to stay away from by now.
Dinners have been all veggies and chicken, steak or salmon. I’ve been loving the sweet potato fries my husband has been baking. He uses pickled jalapeños, garlic and olive oil. They are seriously amazing, and 100% compliant!
I’ve been loving my fruit because it’s curbed my cravings for sugar big time! I’ve been trying to limit myself with an apple and a banana a day which seems to be working just fine for me.
One thing I’ve noticed, and have seen others share, is that I have to pee a lot more than normal. The second week I was getting up in the middle of the night to go, and it was getting really annoying. I’m obviously not a doctor, but I’m thinking it’s because the increase in drinking water (that’s a given!) eating fruit. I’ve reached this topic a few times, and everyone seems to come up with the same consensus. Another theory I found is that your body is “detoxing” and expelling toxins. Who knows!
I’m excited for these 30 days to be over, and move onto Paleo. I haven’t been consistent with working out because my work schedule, and life. I plan on starting a workout program next week and being more strict on myself.
I still feel like I have a ton more energy than I did before starting Whole 30 I’ve lost a few pounds, but nothing to throw a party over!
I’ve had several people ask me why am I doing this to myself? Well, I think it’s healthy to detox the right way by eating whole foods and nothing processed. Using teas and juices aren’t my thing, and I don’t feel like they are the healthiest option to begin with. Another reason is because I can, and want to see if I can succeed. I’m a huge sugar lover, so this has been really challenging for me. I wanted to see if I could actually do it, and so far I’ve been able to! There is hope for me yet!!
