This week was HARD! Valentine’s Day was Wednesday and I wanted chocolates so bad!! I was craving sugar all day long, but I’m proud to say that I didn’t cave!
The husband and I went to Costco to stock up on some protein (they have really good deals on meat!), and ended up grabbing a Paleo Pancake Mix. I was all for it, thinking it was Whole 30 compliant, but I was WRONG! No pancakes of any kind (even healthy ones!) are allowed during the Whole 30 program. You can’t make things that replicate a cheat, for instance, cookies and ice cream. Pintrest is loaded with Whole 30 compliant recipes, but they are a no go!
I was sad…like really sad. I then remembered why we started and am super thankful we are onto our third week!
I had a splash of coconut milk in my Starbucks Blonde Roast one morning, which I think was a cheat, but I’m not counting it! I’m really surprised that I’ve been able to drink my coffee black these past two weeks since I’m a huge creamer fan.
Our breakfasts have consisted of cooked eggs, fruit and a fresh salsa. I’ve been having three eggs in the morning instead of my normal two because it’s been holding me over until lunch time! A few mornings we added cooked spinach to the plate and it was really good!
Lunches have been Flame Broiler bowls for the most part! Just veggies and chicken though, no rice or sauce!
I’ve been snacking on almonds, but trying to stay away from overindulging on fruit like I did over the weekend. I ate my body weight in strawberries when fruit it suppose to be consumed in moderation.
Dinners have been fairly simple! We’ve been cooking chicken breast with veggies and making a big mixture or grilling salmon and veggies. For Valentine’s Day we grilled fillets and wrapped them with prosciutto, because bacon is out of the question!
I’m looking back on this second week, and I feel good! I have more energy when I get home from work, and I’ve been able to workout five days this week. I’ve been drinking more water and my cravings aren’t as bad as they were last week (except for Valentine’s Day!). It’s getting easier and becoming more of a habit.
I’m really not down any weight this second week. I weighed in two pounds lower than when I started, but I’m not giving up. The fact that I feel better and have more energy is keeping me going and I know something is working!
