You all know I love me some skin care, right?
Well, I was lucky enough to get sent some products from Georgette Klinger. I had never heard of this brand, but after checking out some of their reviews on-line, I figured they knew a thing or two about skin care!
I got to choose three products to try out from their website, and I went for the Marula Eye Cream, Bamboo Exfoliating Scrub and Lavender Facial Mist.
About Georgette Klinger
Georgette Klinger, the founder of the brand, decided to develop her own skin care line after winning a beauty pageant in 1915. Her prize for winning was cosmetics, and they irritated her skin. She was determined to create something better. She opened her first salon on Madison Ave. in New York in 1941 after training with dermatologists in Zürich, Budapest, and Vienna. She then opened a salon in Beverly Hills in 1969. The whole idea behind the Georgette Klinger line was to reveal your skin’s inner glow with a holistic, practical regimen. A huge plus is that the company is cruelty free!
After doing some more research on the brand, it seems like they hit a rough patch after the founder, Georgette Klinger, passed away in 2004. The company was sold, and the salons where closed nationwide.
I have read nothing but amazing things about Georgette and the way she ran her multiple salons. Past employees seem to have really looked up to her dedication and kindness.
The company is said to be back in the family, and they are turning it around, which is refreshing to hear! They have a new CEO, Simon Abadi, former vice president of Mario Badescu Skin Care.
My Thoughts
To say I’m impressed is really an understatement. I was able to choose three products I was interested in testing out, and I’m happy with all three of my picks!
I’ve been in the market for good eye cream for months, and the Marula Eye Cream is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. It’s lightweight, and absorbs quickly. I’ve been using it under my eyes and on my lids in the morning and at night. I typically have dryer skin under my eyes, but since using this cream, I’ve felt a huge difference. There is no scent that I can detect, which is great because I can’t stand scented eye products!
Description: Brighten and revive skin around the delicate eye area with this light, easily absorbed eye cream. Super-charged with a proprietary complex of Caffeine and nourishing Marula Oil, our Marula Eye Cream refreshes, reduces redness and puffiness, and brightens dark circles to visibly diminish signs of fatigue, while powerful anti-oxidants protect your skin and prevent premature aging.
Ingredients: Deionized Water, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Propanediol, Caffeine, Stearic Acid, Dimethylsilanol Hyaluronate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol
The Bamboo Exfoliating Scrub is going to be a staple in my shower from now on. I love to exfoliate, and the scrubbier the better in my opinion! This product has fine granules, which normally don’t do it for me. Despite the mall granules, I can say this is one of the best exfoliants I’ve tried…it really does it’s job and is great for those with sensitive skin! A little goes a very long way!
Description: Smooth and refine the texture of your skin with the ultra-fine Bamboo exfoliant in this gentle gel formula. Dead skin cells can build up on the surface of your complexion, causing clogged pores, acne, and the dull appearance of premature aging. This super-soft and smooth formula carefully and thoroughly buffs away dead skin cells to reveal newer, glowing skin beneath. Aloe and Coconut soothe your complexion during the exfoliation process while St. John’s Wort nourishes, leaving your skin looking clear and radiant.
Ingredients: Deionized Water, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Extract, Hypericum Perforatum (St John’s Wort) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hydroxide, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol, Fragrance
If you follow me, and really pay attention to what I post, you will know of my love of lavender. This facial spray has my heart! It has just enough lavender in it to put a smile on my face! The bottle is pretty large, so I keep it at home and not in my purse. I enjoy using it at night and throughout the day when I’m at home.
Description: Harmonize your skin and mind… Mist yourself with hydrating and calming Lavender, Ginseng, and Aloe Vera Extracts while allowing your whole being to naturally relax with our Lavender Facial Mist. Essential for infusing your skin with moisture during and after a long flight, after a sweaty workout, or in the middle of a super-stressful, skin-wrecking work day, this spray is your peaceful oasis in a harried world. It’s also the perfect way to set your makeup after application, leaving your skin glowing and incandescent. For peaceful, calm days and nights and the prettiest skin, keep this essential luxury with you at all times.
Ingredients: Deionized Water, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Propanediol, Propylene Glycol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Panax (Ginseng) Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol, Decyl Glucoside, Lauryl Glucoside, Citric Acid.
Final Thoughts
I’d give this line a two thumbs up! I’m enjoying these three products, and the pricing isn’t too bad. The only downside is you have to order directly from the Georgette Klinger site, and can’t pick them up at your local mall. I can get over than though, because they occasionally have deals going on and you can probably score free shipping. It seems like they are revamping thier product line, and looking to add more popular products to the range. I honestly see myself purchasing from them in the future!! I am definitely going to be keeping my eyes on this brand…I expect some pretty good things to come!
