I was sent the new Biotin Boost Thickening line from Hask to try out. I was really excited because I had just recently discovered this brand at my local Ulta. I’ve been using their Argan Oil 5 – in – 1 Leave In Spray and my hair has been loving it!
About the brand – Hask’s exotic oil range was first introduced to Europe in 2012. In the past four years they have been distributed worldwide with great success. Hask produces a line of hair care products that include exotic oils and other unique ingredients. The base ingredients for their range include Argan Oil, Monoi Coconut Oil, Charcoal Citrus Oil, Macadamia Oil, Keratin Protein Oil, Bamboo Oil, Kalahari Melon Oil, Chia Seed Oil, Superfruit and Mint Almond Oil. They bring affordable salon quality hair products to the consumer!
About the collection – The new Biotin Boost collection is targeted towards those with fine lifeless hair. It claims to give flat hair an added boost. The products contain Biotin for volume, cologne to fortify, and coffee to help boost strands. The collection includes shampoo, conditioner and a thickening cream.
My thoughts – I will start by letting you all know that my hair is dry, and the majority of the products I try don’t work for me. I like products that have great ingredients, smell great, and actually work. This collection surprised me because “thickening” hair products seem to weigh my hair down and leave it feeling oily. This collection didn’t do that at all. My hair is soft, and feels great! It smells amazing, but I can’t put my finger on the exact scent. My fiancé suggested a hint of sandalwood. Even on day two my hair still smells great, something I don’t experience with my normal shampoo and conditioner. The thickening cream smells just as good as the shampoo and conditioner, and was really easy to work into my towel dried hair. I let my hair air dry overnight typically because I hate using a blow dryer. I woke up to super soft locks after using the trio! I straightened my hair with a hot iron after using these products, and I feel like my hair has a bit more volume than with my old products. I don’t feel like this will leave behind any residue or build up either, which is a huge plus!
The price makes me love this collection even more. The shampoo and conditioner retail for $5.99 at Ulta, and the thickening cream runs $7.99. It can’t get much better than that!
I’d rate the new Biotin Boost Thickening Collection 5/5 because it left my hair feeling and smelling great without breaking the bank or wieghing down my hair.
