Battle of the In-Shower Lotions

fullsizerender-2

These new in-shower lotions have become all the hype. I see them everywhere! They are advertised online, in magazines, and on T.V. like crazy. I decided to give them a go, because, why not?!?

I hate putting lotion on before squeezing into my jeans because it’s a pain! I know I’m not alone in this! I’ve been slacking on the whole lotion application because it’s winter, and I’m in long sleeves and pants everyday. There is really no excuse though, and I need to get my act together.

I picked up the Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion at Target because it was on sale a few weeks back. You have to rinse this one off in the shower, which sounded pretty promising. I’ve read that your shower can become very slippery after using this, so you have to be super careful. Luckily, I didn’t experience a slip or fall, and my shower stayed safe. I wasn’t impressed by this product because it didn’t seem to moisturize my skin at all. The smell is lovely, but my skin wasn’t hydrated anymore or any less after using this product.

The fiancé and I spotted the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer on clearance at our local Albertsons. I happen to love Green Tea Oil, so we picked it up. The only reason I tried the Nivea over Jergens in the first place was because it was on sale. Anyways, you apply the Jergens product to your wet skin after getting out of the shower, and then pat or air dry. I fell in love the first time I used it! It smells amazing, and really does moisturize! It absorbs almost immediately, and leaves your skin feel super soft and hydrated.

I’d recommend picking up the Jergens over the Nivea. Totally my personal preference, but the Jergens did way more for me than the Nivea. I will continue to use the Nivea to shave with, so it’s not a total waste!
